Universal Fibre Optics supplied a range of products, including end fittings, harnesses and light sources to illuminate display cases for the Thomson Collection in the Art Gallery of Ontario.
The Thomson collection houses artworks gifted to the gallery by Ken Thomson who assembled the most important private art collection in Canada.
Universal Fibre Optics products are used extensively to illuminate the large collection of ship models.
The lighting at the top of the cabinets is supplied by UFO 34D fittings. 3mm fibre runs from the 100W dimmable light sources located in the cabinet legs, up through the aluminium tubes and into the fittings.
To lluminate the underside of the ship models, 3mm fibre is also used. This has no end fittings and is held in place by radio nuts. This fibre is also fed from 100W dimmable lightsources located in the cabinet legs.
